I am currently: Bored to tears(literally...)

Home again, home again, jiggety jig... Well, I'm not quite doing a jig, actually. Because there's nothing to do!! It seems like everyone is still at school! I did get a job at Costco last week, and should start by the end of this week after the background check. So, maybe once I start working the time will pass quicker. But still, I really miss Berkeley and the dorms and the floor....there was always so much to do when I was at school. And now...well there's always movies I guess...

I actually cried the day I moved out. It was so sad. I'm really going to miss Clark Kerr Campus... :(

I did do something fun on Saturday, however. Go figure it was in a different town, though. I went to see Joe in "Into the Woods" at Davis with Greg, and I had a blast. It was fun getting to meet all his floor mates and even a few of his housemates for next year. I especially got to talking with Jeff(one of his housemates for next year) because we have mutual friends that go to Berkeley. Overall, it was a very fun evening(even if I was dead tired and sick)... And joy for doing illegal things...Greg had to ride in the trunk of my car on the way home from IHOP after the show because there were too many people for my car. And everyone knows how many cops are out in a college town on a Saturday night. I really didn't want to chance it...But still, it was kinda creepy having someone ride in the trunk of my car. At least it makes for a good story...

I saw Star Wars Episode III on opening day with my parents. Still not up to the calibre of the original trilogy but definitely much better than the other two prequels. I highly recommend it.

And I suppose that is all for now. I will probably have more to write once I start work because that'll make for some interesting stories. But for now, I write nothing because there is nothing happening in my life...If you want to hang out or help cure boredom, please give me a call... --Katy

I am currently: Amazed...

I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. I have less than a week left of college. My first year of college is almost over. It seems like it doesn't register no matter how many times I repeat it to myself. It's over. The year people look forward to until it happens and the year people look back on as one of the best of their lives. It's over. I can't believe it. I have one more day of official classes, one final left to take on Friday, and in less than a week I will be back in Folsom. Back to work. Back to hot weather. Back to suburbia. This summer is going to seem very long. Not that there aren't awesome people to hang out with in Folsom, because there are. But more because I've been away on my own for a year in a new city, and it will seem so odd to try and go back to the way things were before. That and I really have nothing special to look forward to this summer. It's basically just going to be straight money making time for next year.

The worst part about it is that this summer may be the first where Stephen does not join me at home. I get a lump in my throat just thinking about it. He has an interview to get a job at Paramount's Great America on Saturday. That's fuckin awesome. He's totally realizing his dream. I hope I actually have a dream to realize someday. I still don't know what the fuck I'm doing with major(let alone my future career), and I'm already done with one year of college.

My God, I still can't believe it.

On a lighter and more exciting note, my field trip seminar was simply AWESOME! I had a blast and met so many new friends, whom I've hung out with much since we got back. It was so much better not knowing anyone in the class because I was forced to meet new friends over 4 days in the wilderness. All aspects of the trip were awesome: taking a mine tour 400 feet underground, seeing all kinda of crazy underground formations in Mercer Caverns, telling jokes of all kinds for over an hour around the campfire, learning bawdy camp songs from our 73 year old professor, seeing that crazy professor get a federal speeding ticket in Yosemite, scampering up Vernal Falls in Yosemite, throwing orange peels out the window of our van at the other van, meeting hot guys...

It was an awesome trip! I can't get over how fun it was. I was so sad when it was over because it was such a wonderful experience. I wouldn't give up taking that class for anything, and I'm so glad I was able to fit it into my schedule. Looks like plans are in the works for the same group to go camping together in the future! Yay! Well I must be off...for those of you in Folsom, I'll be home soon. And for those of you still in school for a month or so, I'll be waiting for you when you get home...:) I can't wait to see you all and share all the crazy experiences I've had this year. It means so much to me to share them with you all...
See you soon, Yosty (my nickname from the field trip)...

I am currently: Both sad and relieved the show is over, and happy that I'll be 19 tomorrow

So, "She Loves Me" has closed. But it was honestly one of the best experiences I've ever had being in a show. Who'd have ever dreamed that being the lusty busgirl and a frazzled customer would be so much fun. I'll never forget table dancing, smothering people into my chest, or the orgy scene, I can tell you that much. Annie was an awesome director, and I've learned so much from her. And I'm really going to miss the cast too. I've been seeing these people every night for nearly 4 months. It's so hard to part with them, especially those that are graduating. But it's time to move on, catch up in classes, and have fun for the short time I have left in school.

And it's my last night of being 18. Woohoo! Really there's nothing special about turning 19, so I'm not going to pretend it's anything cool. I'm just excited to be in a celebratory and slackerish mood tomorrow. That and I'm eating good food.

And then, the morning after, I get to leave at 7 am for my Earth and Planetary sciences seminar camping trip! Yay! I get to go to Yosemite for the weekend! I'm uber excited.

Well I'll update after all my adventures. Hope everyone else is as busy and having as much fun as I!

I am currently: So happy I could pee my pants! (But I won't, don't worry)

Spring Break is here!!! Yay! I thought it would never come! But now I get a whole week off, and I'm super happy about it. I can't wait to see people at home and my family. Oh man, it'll be so great! I'm going to San Luis Obispo today to visit Stephen and go to the beach, etc. We're staying there till Tuesday, then we're all coming back to good ol' Folsom. Anywho, I hope everyone has a great Spring Break, and I hope to see some of you back home! Whahooo!---Kathryn

I am currently: Procrastinating on studying for my Anthro midterm

(sigh) It will be so nice when my one and only one midterm is over...(I know, I'm a lucky bastard who's getting 17.5 units for taking one midterm and two finals..)

The musical is rolling along. I just can't wait till the "Romantic Atmosphere" number get's choreographed cause the busgirl(aka me) will get rowdy with the patrons! Whoohoo!

Anywho, less than 2 weeks till Spring Break! It'll be nice to have some time off, get a tan, see peeps I don't normally get to see. Though I must say I'm having a fab time here in Berk. Totally rad(as to quote my friend Caroline)

So I found out just recently that the Theater Department at Berkeley is doing a musical next year. Yes, that right folks. The Theater Department that is so into interpretive, avant garde, and modern and so against musicals because they aren't "real" theater is actually doing a musical. They're doing "Cradle Will Rock" next fall. Yes, it's not your average happy-go-lucky musical, and of course it has to have deeper political meaning, but hey, a musical is a musical, and I'm happy about it. So I will be auditioning for that. Probably won't get in, but it's worth a shot.

Anywho, I gotsta do laundry now. Mmmm...the laundry room always smells like fabric softener and is sooo warm. :) Bye!
